The restricted environment and proximity of neighboring dwellings can be a handicap or a strength for a project. In the case of this town villa located in an old district of Châtel, it was clear that inventiveness would give way to a project articulated between road, building and plot.
From the outset, the grey facade of composite panels, emphasized by concrete-coloured bands, draws the eye to the corner of the neighbouring building. There's no sign of the building's distinctive shape, apart from the break in the façade, which hints at an oblique plan.
While the exterior shape plays with the perimeter limits of the plot, the layout remains functional and orthogonal. The materials chosen by the owners accentuate the contemporary spirit sought from the outset of the project.
A villa is born.
