Situated at an altitude of 1,051 m in the Fribourg pre-Alps, in the heart of the small ski resort of Les Paccots, the building, created in the 1970s, needed to be restored and modified to meet the client's new requirements.
Rectangular in shape, with a recess along its long southern and northern sides, the building creates an imposing visual signature on the site, against a backdrop of fir forests. The building includes classrooms, conference rooms, 34 bedrooms on the upper floors, a professional kitchen, dining room, administration area, etc.
The aim was to modernize the facilities and give the whole building a new character.
The balconies originally present on the south facade have been enclosed by walls and windows, and are now part of the building's volume. The black tint of the floors on the vertical wooden slats and the grey of the Eternit slabs on the plinth create a dialogue with the practical workshops building opposite, and respond to a logic of site and image.
