Set in open countryside on a plot of land already partially occupied by a farm converted in the 1980s, this new building, with its contemporary «ship-like» appearance, blends harmoniously with the topography and its surroundings.
Indeed, as the terrain changes in altitude, the use of half-levels on the common landings proved to be the best solution for minimizing the layout and relationship to the ground. The communal walkways link 2 blocks of buildings at different levels, which also play on the opening of the balconies and their respective directions.
The overall effect is to break down the feeling of a «block» and subtly blend the 2 units in an intelligent, rational way. The materials used on the exterior are reminiscent of the wood cladding found on local farmhouses, contributing to the visual impact of the countryside despite its size.
The apartments and their finishes were left to the tenant's choice.
